台灣校園使用wiki的現況

今天看到planetoid最新上傳的"校園共筆應用"投影片，雖然主題是Mediawiki的建置與管理，但開頭部分提到台灣校園使用wiki的現況，最後提到的參考資源，都是很不錯的資訊

wiki與blog的結合

這兩年，wiki比以前友善多了，開始提供"可視即可得"的畫面，也促使國外很多專家都開始運用wiki， 有些人認為wiki跟華人比較無緣

假如大家看wikipedia, 條目最多的是英文，其次是哪一個國家的文字呢？德文還是法文？
答案是德文，而法國人寫blog的數量比較多，這真的跟民族性有關，blog中有很大的個人色彩，wiki則傾向於客觀的知識整理·依照人口來看，華人數量最多，但wiki的條目及不上日文，當然，這跟網民數目有關，但跟文化也有關係，中華文化中本來就缺少分享與合作的基因，所以wiki不適合華人胃口·

2002年時，blog和wiki同時開始竄紅，那時我很排斥wiki，但時間是很奇妙的東西，現在我反而很喜歡wiki裡的無我、自由連結與創意，我發現建一個知識wiki，就很像雕塑一個藝術品，慢慢地添加和修改，嘗試不同的結合

blog偏重在個人自我的表達，wiki則有跳出自己看世界的味道，也是整理自己資料與知識的好方法，目前歐美很多人把blog和wiki結合，而我則將Google Group裡的網頁跟goldred space結合 ，goldred space是我用wikispaces公司提供的工具製作而成

wikispaces是個好工具

我一直在找一個好用的wiki工具，Google Groups裡的網頁功能太簡單，有些明顯錯誤一直沒修正
以前用pbwiki，雖然不錯，但我發現他給免費者的容量有限，後來就沒繼續使用
最近發現wikispaces，它們對免費使用者的空間沒有限制，但是有廣告，操作上很直觀
它對中小學教師提供十萬個免費用戶，目前還可申請

所以我建立了一個goldred space

Gartner預計美國三年後，有一半的美國公司會採用wiki作為專案管理或公司知識管理的工具
公司的員工不喜歡填表格，卻喜歡分享自己工作中的故事。

So much so that Gartner analyst Kathy Harris predicted that by 2009, 50 percent of U.S. companies will be using wikis.

Rather than being driven by senior management, however, adoption is coming mainly from project managers and department-level executives.
"In almost every big corporation, some group is already using a wiki," said Andrew McAfee, associate professor of technology and operations management at the Harvard Business School.

Wikis, on the other hand, are a more natural way for people to explain their thought processes and get kudos along the way.

"Wikis provide a social incentive to share knowledge," Socialtext CEO Ross Mayfield told internetnews.com. "People don't like filling in forms, but they enjoy telling stories about their day."
